España es el tercer país europeo por número de invenciones respecto al gasto en investigación y desarrollo [Spain is situated in third place in Europe for the number of inventions in relation to expenditure on research and development]

According to a study carried out by the Spanish Office of Patents and Trademarks (Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas) Spain is situated in third place in the European Union regarding patent applications made by residents in each country, in relation to expenditure on research and development.
