In preparation for the European Youth Event (EYE 2016), which took take place at the European Parliament in Strasbourg from 20-21 May 2016, the European Parliamentary Research Service prepared 20 short ‘At a Glance’ notes on all the themes of the EYE 2016.

The European Youth Event is for young people aged 16-30. They will exchange ideas and perspectives on youth-related issues, develop innovative solutions to crucial questions for the future and meet with European decision-makers and speakers with a wide range of professional experience.

As a follow-up to the EYE, a report with the ideas discussed will be made available to all 751 Members of the European Parliament. Furthermore, some of those participating at the EYE participants will have the chance to present the most concrete ideas by young people to a number of European parliamentary committees and receive feedback from MEPs.

The 20 topics are divided in five main themes as reflected in the programme of the EYE 2016:

Exclusion or Access: Crackdown on Youth Unemployment
