Summary:

Communication published by the European Commission on 2 December 2020, setting out a strategy for judicial training in the European Union (EU) for the period 2021-2024.

Further information:

The responsibility for judicial training is shared with Member States and is further developed with the support of a number of stakeholders. This strategy build on the lessons learnt since the adoption of the previous European judicial training strategy, reflects the results of an assessment of that strategy and of the outcome of a public consultation.

This EU Strategy on Judicial Training broadens the scope of the EU training offer to justice professionals to new policy areas, such as digitalisation and artificial intelligence, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to face the challenges of the 21st century.

This strategy was published as part of a package of initiatives to modernise the EU justice systems.
