EmuNet, October 1998

The EmuNet web site was awarded the European Information Association's web site award for 1997 and also featured in an article in an earlier issue of European Access (Charles Pownall, 'EmuNet: new web site on economic and monetary union', European Access, No.6, December 1997, p18). This excellent site has continued to develop and is of particular value in putting forward the UK perspective from all angles. It combines official texts, news and comment, press articles, information on practical issues, details of events, and a diary feature - a timetable for meetings, decisions and key developments - with reports, surveys, discussions and views. Feedback is invited and it seeks to act as a gateway for access to a wide range of sources and for the expression of differing points of view. The forums offer arenas for open debate among a range of audiences in an attempt to generate serious discussion of the issues. The site's address is http://www.euroemu.co.uk/
