The Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (MECD) awarded the 'European labels', an annual award for outstanding initiatives in the teaching of foreign languages, on 27 February 2003. The first prize went to the 'Instituto de Educación Secundaria 'Federico Baraibar' de Vitoria (Álava).
