The Euro Info Centre (EIC) network has been operating in the future Member States for 15 years. It has already opened 50 centres in the accession and candidate countries and is planning to add a further 19. These are part of the overall EIC network which is now represented in more than 42 countries and is managed by the Enterprise DG. Its role is to inform, advise and assist SMEs in order to ensure that they are well prepared to take advantage of the European single market. EICs can also provide useful feedback to the Commission by informing it of their practical experiences in the field. This article gives three examples of the many projects the EICs currently operate
