EIB: Council agrees to increase funding to address migration issues

On 5 April 2017, the permanent members of the Council of the European Union agreed on a negotiating position regarding the proposition for the European Investment Bank to allocate further funding to projects outside the EU addressing migration issues.

This decision came as part of a mid-term review of the EIB's external lending mandate, and further negotiations with the Parliament and Commission were scheduled to start on 12 April 2017.
