To help we at her the crisis and provide support for the economy, the European Investment Bank further stepped up its lending to record levels in 2009. Lending volumes went from EUR 47bn in 2007 to EUR 58bn in 2008. In 2009, the Bank continued along this path and substantially increased its lending to EUR 79bn, with a focus on SMEs, the fight against climate change and convergence areas. |
