EFTA – Chile Free Trade Agreement enters into force

On the 01 December 2004, the Free Trade Agremment between EFTA and Chile entered into force.

The Agreement covered all major areas of trade relations including trade in goods, trade in services and investment, government procurement, competition and intellectual property. A Joint Committee was established for the supervision of the Agreement. It also contained stipulations on dispute settlement. Moreover, the EFTA States and Chile concluded bilateral agreements on agriculture, which are also foreseen to enter into force in June 2004.
