Ecuador to retaliate in banana war

On the 27 March 2000, Ecuador planned to ask the World Trade Organisation, in May 2000, for permission to impose more than $200m worth in trade retaliation against EU goods, services and intellectual property in their banana dispute, the country's WTO ambassador.
