Drug treatment overviews

The European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) in June 2005, made available on its website drug treatment overviews of the availability of drug-related treatment (including social reintegration) that are now available for the 25 EU Member States, Bulgaria, Romania and Norway. The drug treatment overviews consist of four main parts: A description of the national context; availability of drug-free treatment including a breakdown of the services provided; a concise overview on the kinds of substance applied in medically assisted treatment, together with information on its availability. An estimate of the coverage rate of medically assisted treatment (as a percentage of the total number of problem drug users) is also presented.
