A lasting revival in domestic demand will help Germany’s economy expand by almost 4% in 2010 and contribute significantly to reducing 'global imbalances', the government in Berlin was told in November 2010.

Germany’s Council of Economic Advisers also forecast that the country’s robust economic recovery would extend into 2011, when gross domestic product was expected to increase by 2.2%, after a 3.7% rise in 2010.
