Background and further information: Topics on the agenda include artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, e-health, as well as innovation and future investments in the Digital Single Market. The event also followed up on the agreements reached during the 2017 edition of the Digital Day. That event concluded agreements and actions related to high-performance computing (HPC), digital transformation of jobs and skills, digitisation of industry, and connected automated mobility. On Digital Day, 25 European countries (24 EU Member States and Norway) signed a Declaration of cooperation on Artificial Intelligence. This comes after some initiatives by national government such as France's plan to grant a total of €1.5 billion in public funding into AI research over the next four years. Digital Day 2018 took place on 10 April 2018. This one-day event brought together high-level stakeholders in the fields of digital technology and telecommunication. |
