Council's Register of documents

For those who have not looked recently at the Council web site, it has been revamped and expanded and is well worth a visit at http://ue.eu.int/. Though not yet fully developed it will be particularly useful in relation to Common Foreign and Security Policy and Justice and Home Affairs issues, with the full text of some of the documents being made available. One major new feature launched in January is the 'Public Register of Council Documents' which contains details from 1999 onwards. For Council documents seehttp://register.consilium.eu.int/.One of the problems of requesting access to Council documents has been the difficulty of knowing what to ask for. This will be a valuable source of reference. The search form offers subject, date and document number access, and there is information on how to submit requests as well as how the policy of access to Council documents is implemented.
