Eurostat's new CD ROM

Eurostat produced a new monthly statistical document contemporaneous with the launch of the euro. Entitled Money finance and the euro it contains a wide range of financial indicators. With data derived from New Cronos they have also brought out a quarterly CD ROM under the same name. The electronic version however contains more and longer time-series than the print version. Alternatively, instead of paper, subscribers can choose to take the pdf format and have it sent by e-mail. Annual subscriptions for paper, pdf and CD ROM are respectively 150, 108 and 320 euros. Also announced as due shortly is a later edition of the Eudor Stat CD ROM. The first set was issued in January 1998; the new issue will cover publications during the period 17.9.1997 to 31.10.1998.

Commission's e-mail addresses

As well as necessitating changes to the web site addresses, the new system of naming the DGs has required changes to the e-mail addresses of Commission officials. The opportunity has been taken to simplify the address structure, and this will also have the benefit of avoiding the need to change e-mail address when changing post internally. Instead of the old address John.Smith@dg10.cec.be the new format is John.Smith@cec.eu.int. The change came into force on 3 November though the old addresses will continue to work for sent mail until mid-2000. An exception to the new form is the Delegations (though not the Representations in the member states) which still contain a country of origin element to the addresses.
