LAWTEL EU

LAWTEL's EU law service, previously known as EU Interactive is to be rebranded as LAWTEL EU, mirroring the UK service LAWTEL UK. Both services are now available through the website http://www.lawtel.com/. By bringing them together under the one LAWTEL banner the company seeks to emphasise the relationship between the two sources and offer simple access not just to the EU sources but also to the relevant UK documents which result from them. The core of the EU database is the former Spicers Centre for Europe database but there are now daily updates. LAWTEL aims to provide coverage of a comprehensive range of EU official documents within 24 hours of their release. In addition the records include direct hyperlinks to related EU and UK documents. A new initiative is the development of a series of specialist bulletins which will provide a weekly overview of the latest changes in both EU and UK law. Initially these bulletins will focus on the following key areas: employment, intellectual property, competition, and technology, telecommunications and the media.

Research News Centre

News articles on EU research are being made available through the new website of the European research News Centre at http://europa.eu.int/comm/research/news-centre/index_en.html/. Accessible articles drawn from the printed publication RTD info are grouped by subject field and cover policy, programmes, projects and results. The site also offers links to headlines, press releases and a diary which provides details of relevant events, publications and links to calls for proposals. A web version of the various issues of RTD info can also be displayed from the website.
