Development Needs Youth – Youth Organisations in Action

This booklet takes an in-depth look at youth development policies.

Development cooperation is aimed towards the achievement of development goals established nationally and internationally - most importantly the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and national poverty reduction strategies and development policies based upon the MDGs.

Whilst governments have the biggest responsibility to establish the necessary partnerships to realise international commitments, international organisations and civil society also share responsibility. From this perspective, youth organisations have an important role to play in development policies, given the extreme relevance for, and impact upon youth these policies.
