A cartoon in a Danish newspaper has sparked tension between Saudi Arabia and Nordic countries, and is growing into an international trade dispute. European Union Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson has warned that the EU would take Saudi Arabia before the World Trade Organisation if the Saudi government encouraged a boycott of Danish products which began in January 2006. Danes have also been warned not to travel to Saudi Arabia. |
