The European Commission's Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry and the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs) in December 2005, signed a 'Declaration of Intention for Cooperation' in order to closely cooperate in the task of disseminating information about the Community trade mark and design systems for the benefit of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Within the framework of this cooperation, the OHIM will provide the EIC network with information and training on Community trade mark and design matters. On the other hand, the Euro Info Centre network, established throughout the European Union, will ensure that SMEs are made aware of the existence and main aspects of the Community protection systems as part of their task to advise SMEs on their strategic development. |
