Declaration by the Presidency of the European Union on Chile’s ratification of the Rome Statue

The Presidency of the European Union congratulates to Chile on its ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on 29 June 2009.

Chile’s accession, bringing the number of ICC states parties to 109, marks a further significant step forward in the international community's efforts to combat impunity for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
