Decision (EU) 2019/304 concerning the notification by the United Kingdom of its wish no longer to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis

Council Decision of 18 February 2019 concerning the United Kingdom's wish not to take part in the adoption of the recast of Regulation (EC) No 377/2004 on the creation of an immigration liaison officers network.

Further information:

In accordance with the United Kingdom’s wish to participate in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis, the UK took part in Regulation (EC) No 377/2004, later amended by Regulation (EU) No 493/2011.

In May 2018, the European Commission proposed a further amendment of Regulation No 377/2004 in the form of a recast. On 1 October 2018 the United Kingdom notified to the President of the Council its wish not to take part in the recast proposal. As a consequence the United Kingdom will cease to participate in the immigration liaison officers network from the date of entry into force of the recast proposal.
