Summary: Council Decision of 5 February 2019 establishing the position to be taken on behalf of the Union as regards the adoption of the rules of procedure for the Joint Council and for the Trade and Development Committee set up under the EU-SADC Economic Partnership Agreement. Further information: The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union and its Member States, of the one part, and the SADC EPA States, of the other part is provisionally applied between the EU and Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland and South Africa from 10 October 2016, and between the EU and Mozambique from 4 February 2018. The Joint Council was established to oversee and administer the implementation of the Agreement. During its first meeting, the Joint Council is to adopt a decision regarding the rules of procedure of the Joint Council and of the Trade and Development Committee. On 5 November 2018 the European Commission presented a proposal for a Council Decision on the position to be taken on behalf of the Union at the Joint Council meeting. |
