Death puts new focus on Russian prisons

The death of a businesswoman, Vera Trifonova, in a Russian prison, May 2010, has put the country’s penal system under the spotlight for the second time in a year after Dmitry Medvedev, president, and several lawmakers called for a criminal investigation.
