The Czech constitutional court ruled on the 3 November 2009 that the Lisbon treaty did not violate the country’s constitution, opening the way for President Vaclav Klaus, the last EU holdout, to sign the pact.

Later on the 3 November President Klaus signed the Treaty of Lisbon, the final step in the charter's ratification in all of the EU Member States.
