Both sides were shirking responsibility, commentators wrote, but they still hoped a solution can be found.

Following a meeting with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced on the 5 June 2017 that they had agreed on the need to reconvene the Conference on Cyprus later in June 2017, in line with the 12 January 2017 statement of the conference.
