Croatia sentenced on the 30 May 2008 one of its ex-generals, Mirko Norac, to seven years imprisonment for the war crimes against ethnic Serb rebels in 1993, as the ex-Yugoslav country fought for independence. The Zagreb district court ruled in Croatia’s first case transferred from the United Nations tribunal in The Hague.
