Critical report knocks Turkey’s EU hopes

A draft internal European Union document is reported to criticise Turkey over its human rights record and tensions with Cyprus and has thrown into doubt the continuation of accession negotiations. The draft document has been prepared for an EU-Turkey meeting in mid-June 2006.
