A fresh crisis over Iran's nuclear programme arose on 10 January 2006 when the seals placed by United Nations officials at a nuclear facility in Natanz were removed. Iran's Government announced it would begin research involving nuclear enrichment - which can produce weapons grade material. The move has brought criticism from the United States, Britain, France and Germany.
