Summary:

Council Decision (CFSP) 2022/637 - adopted by the Council of the European Union on 13 April 2022 - introducing amendments to Decision (CFSP) 2022/339 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility for the support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Further information:

The European Peace Facility (EPF) is an off-budget instrument aimed at enhancing the European Union's ability to prevent conflicts, build peace and strengthen international security. It enables the financing of operational actions under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) that have military or defence implications.

Decision (EU) 2022/339 finances the provision of equipment and supplies not designed to deliver lethal force - such as personal protective equipment, first aid kits and fuel -  to Ukraine in the context of Russia's invasion of this country. Additional support was introduced by Decision (CFSP) 2022/472. This further amendment increases the financial reference by an additional €50 million and the duration of assistance measure is extended by a further 24 months.

This Decision was adopted by the Council of the European Union on 13 April 2022 and published in the Official Journal on 19 April 2022.
