Summary: Council Decision (CFSP) 2022/471 - adopted by the Council of the European Union on 23 March 2022 - introducing amendments to Decision (CFSP) 2022/338 on an assistance measure under the European Peace Facility for the supply to the Ukrainian Armed Forces of military equipment, and platforms, designed to deliver lethal force. Further information: The European Peace Facility (EPF) is an off-budget instrument aimed at enhancing the European Union's ability to prevent conflicts, build peace and strengthen international security. It enables the financing of operational actions under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) that have military or defence implications. Decision (CFSP) 2022/338 finances the provision of military equipment, and platforms, designed to deliver lethal forces to Ukraine in the context of Russia's invasion of this country. The amendment increases the financial reference by an additional €450 million and the during of the assistance measure is extended by a further 12 months beyond the initial period. This Decision was adopted by the Council of the European Union on 23 March 2022 and published in the Official Journal on 24 March 2022. |
