Summary: Decision (CFSP) 2019/1909 - adopted by the Council of the European Union on 12 November 2019 - which updates the list of defence projects to be developed in the framework of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO). Further information: The Council adopted an updated list of 13 projects to be undertaken under PESCO. This Decision brought to 47 the number of projects in place. Five of the new projects focus on training, covering areas such as cyber, diving, tactical, medical as well as chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence (CBRND) training. Other projects focus on enhancing EU collaborative actions as well as on capability development on sea, air and space. The Decision establishing Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) was adopted in December 2017. The first set of projects was formally adopted by the Council in March 2018, followed by an update in November 2018. |
