Summary: The Council of the European Union adopted on 22 May 2019 a set of conclusions relating to young people and the future of work. Further information: The conclusions highlight insecurity, the lack of social protection and precarious working conditions as the main problems facing young people in the current and future labour environment. A number of measures to address these problems are identified by the Council. The conclusions also recognise that the European Union should support young people’s personal development and growth to autonomy, build their resilience and equip them with the necessary resources to participate in society, thereby contributing to the eradication of youth poverty. |
