Summary: On the 19 November 2016, the Council of European Union published its conclusion concerning new elements of cohesion policy and the European structural and investment funds. In its conclusion, it recognised that cohesion policy is the main investment policy at the European Union level to achieve the objectives as set out in the Europe 2020 strategy; and underlined the added value of cohesion policy and the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI Funds), in particular: in providing a stable long-term EU framework and financial means for investment in jobs and growth and the delivery of structural reforms. |
