On 20 October 2004 the European Commission adopted the convergence report 2004, which re-assessed the conditions for adopting the euro in Sweden. This re-examination was also used as an opportunity to analyze the situation in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia. The report concludes that none of the eleven Member States assessed fulfils the necessary conditions for adopting the euro. |
