This first draft of the UK National Strategic Plan for Fisheries was drawn up by all four UK Fisheries Administrations. It describes the UK fisheries sector and UK objectives and priorities for fisheries between 2007 and 2013. It covers catching, aquaculture, inland fishing, processing and marketing. The aim of the plan is demonstrate to the European Commission that the UK has clear strategic objectives for managing fisheries and on which to base its priorities under the European Fisheries Fund. It is expected that an updated draft will become available in February 2006. Deadline for responses: 17 February 2006.
