The First European Conference on Higher Education in the Languages of National Minorities was held in Cluj/Kolozsvàr, May 2005, and online with participation from all over Europe. They examined the possibilities of establishing or extending higher education in the mother tongue of 'national minorities' based on the principles of the European Union and the Bologna Process and they adopted a Charter of Higher Education in Minority-Languages in Europe.
