Summary: Set of conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union on 28 May 2020 relating to the latest developments in Afghanistan. Further information: These conclusions reaffirm the EU's political commitment to support the country and its citizens, and highlight the connection between future political and financial support with respect and promotion for democracy and a values-based system. The document also reiterate the EU's support for a negotiated political settlement leading to lasting peace and reconciliation.
