Conclusions of the Council and of the representatives of the governments of the Member States meeting within the Council on the contribution of self-organised sport to supporting active and healthy lifestyles in the European Union

Summary:

Set of conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union and representatives of Member State representatives on 14 May 2024, concerning the contribution of self-organised sport to supporting active and healthy lifestyles among Europeans.

Further information:

The conclusions encourage Member States and the European Commission to implement policies that foster the practice of self-organised sport, including in areas that lack sufficient sports facilities, as well as to encourage Europeans, via awareness campaigns and the development of suitable infrastructure, to engage in self-organised sport.

The conclusions were adopted at a meeting of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport (EYCS) Council on 13 May 2024, and published in the Official Journal on 27 June 2024.
