Date: 15/10/1998 Belgium's 7000-strong Irish community is organising a benefit concert for the families of victims of this summer's bomb attack in Omagh, Northern Ireland. The terrorist bomb was the worst in the history of the Northern Irish 'troubles', leaving 30 people dead and around 300 injured. The concert will take place at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on 30 November and will feature leading Irish folk musicians. Tickets cost 1,500 Belgian francs and the organisers hope to raise a total of around 1 million francs. |
