Summary:
A meeting of the Competitiveness Council (COMPET) was held on 9-10 June 2022. This meeting focusing on matters relating to the internal market and industry, research and space. The agenda included the following items:
- Adoption of general approach on proposed revision of the Consumer Credit Directive;
- Update on progress concerning the proposed regulation on semiconductors, also known as Chips Act;

- Adoption of conclusions on the future of the Copernicus programme up to 2035;
- Adoption of conclusions on space traffic management (STM);
- Policy debate on the resilience and competitiveness of the EU space programme;
- Update by the European Commission on the state of play on the implementation of the new governance of the European Research Area (ERA).
