Communication on the annual accounts of the European Commission 2017

The objective of financial statements is to provide information about the financial position, performance and cashflows of an entity that is useful to a wide range of users. For the EU as a public sector entity, the objectives are more specifically to provide information useful for decision making, and to demonstrate the accountability of the entity for the resources entrusted to it.

With these goals in mind this document presents the annual accounts of the European Commission for the financial year 2017.
