Commissioner Nielson to visit the Dominican Republic and attend EU-ACP Council

The European Commissioner in charge of Development and Humanitarian Aid, Mr Poul Nielson, would carry out an official visit to the Dominican Republic from 24 to 28 June 2002.

The first part of his visit (24 to 27 June) would be devoted to meetings with the authorities and visits to EU funded development projects in the Dominican Republic. For the second part of the visit (28 June), Mr Nielson would attend the annual meeting of the ACP-EU Council in Bavaro, which brings together Ministers from the 15 EU Member States and the 77 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States.
