Commission welcomes the appointment of José Ramos-Horta as the new Prime Minister of Timor-Leste

The European Commission welcomed the inauguration on 10 July 2006 of Mr José Ramos-Horta as the new Prime Minister of East Timor.

The appointment was seen as a sign of hope for a solution to a political crisis hitting the country earlier in the year.
