EUObserver reports that the European Commission is looking to improve its code of conduct in the wake of a series of revolving-door' episodes in which retiring European Commissioners and officials have gone on to well-paid jobs in the private sector in areas close to the dossiers they oversaw when working for the European Commission.

On 9 November 2010 European Commissioner Maros Sefcovic reported to the Budgetary Control Committee of the European Parliament that the code of conduct was to be strengthened.
