Commission recommends the negotiation of Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreements with Cape Verde

The European Commission recommended on 17 November 2008 the launch of negotiations on agreements to facilitate the issuance of short-stay visas and on readmission between the European Union and Cape Verde.

This recommendation followed up on the commitment made by the Commission to draft mandates for these negotiations in the Declaration launching the mobility partnership between the two sides, which started in June 2008. Visa facilitation and readmission agreements were envisaged as elements of the wider mobility partnership between the European Union and Cape Verde.
