Summary: The European Commission adopted on 12 June 2018 a set of proposals aimed at increasing the funding for migration and border management, in the framework of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. Further information: The Commission proposed the allocation of €34.9 billion under the MFF 2021-2027, following the difficulties facing the European Union since the start of the migration crisis and assuming it would remain a challenge in the forthcoming years. This level of funding would be channelled mainly through the Asylum and Migration Fund (AMF, replacing the existing AMIF) and the Integrated Border Management Fund (IBMF, which includes the existing Borders and Visa instrument). The following proposals provide more details: + [COM(2018)471] Proposal for a Regulation establishing the Asylum and Migration Fund The proposal was put forward in the framework of the discussions on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) for the period 2021-2027. |
