Commission launches consultation with interested parties on a new blueprint to publicize air transport services quality indicators

The European Commission launched in December 2000 a public consultation on the setting up of a regular compulsory data reporting system for airlines, which would serve for the future publication of Community Air Passenger Reports on service quality indicators.

The decision followed a campaign launched for four months to make air passengers aware of their rights. It was also a result of growing numbers of complaints about the deterioration of the quality of air transport services, and of punctuality standards in particular.
