A presentation was made to the Committee, on 25 June 2008, by officials from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government on the draft directive to revise and extend the Emission Trading Scheme in the European Community and the Draft Decision on the effort sharing of EU Member States to reduce emissions in the non-traded sectors. A further presentation was made by a climate change working group from the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC). |
