Climate Change and Energy in the Mediterranean

The impact of climate change is and will continue to be more marked in the Mediterranean area, particularly on its southern and eastern shores, than in most other parts of the world during the 21st century.

Temperature increases, declining rainfall, more frequent and severe extreme climatic events and the possible rise in sea levels are all adding to the existing man-made pressures on the natural environment.
