Publishers Abstract:
Examines the criteria developed by the European Court of Justice to assess whether objects are moveable, immoveable, tangible or intangible for the purposes of property law. Discusses the court's approach to what things may be the object of property rights, the reasons for focusing on objects of such rights, the background to Directive 2006/112, and case law on the court's interpretation of its definition of "immovable", the principle of association, and the concept of 'tangible'. Considers the implications of the approach for national and EU property law.
